PUBLIC HEARING
The following Public Hearing was advertised:

The City of Buena Vista will conduct a public hearing on May 14, 2009 at or about 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 2039 Sycamore Avenue. The hearing will be conducted to receive public input on the proposed FY 2010 Budget. The hearing will be open to the public. Any person desiring to be heard will be given the opportunity to present oral or written testimony within reasonable time limits as determined by the City Council. A complete copy of the budget is available for review in the City Manager’s office, City Hall, 2nd Floor, 2039 Sycamore Avenue. The City Council is considering adopting the following tax, water and sewer rates for FY 2010:

• Real Estate – $0.90 per $100 assessed valuation (represents a 5.5 cent increase)
• Personal Property - $5.85 per $100 assessed valuation – No Change
• Water Rate - $4.88 per 1000 gallons – No Change
• Sewer Rate - $5.39 per 1000 gallons – No Change

The purpose of the Special Meeting will be to have the first reading of an ordinance establishing the tax rates for the City for fiscal year 2009-2010, (2) the first reading of an ordinance appropriating funds for the operation of the City for fiscal year 2009-2010 and (3) the first reading of an ordinance approving the fiscal year 2009-2010 budget.

1. Mr. Thurman Wright, representing the American Legion, has asked to give a presentation before council. He was scheduled to speak at the regular meeting last week but had to cancel.

1. Consider first reading of an ordinance establishing the Tax Rates for the City of Buena Vista for fiscal year 2009-2010
2. Consider first reading of an ordinance appropriating funds for the operation of the City of Buena Vista for Fiscal year 2009-2010
3. Consider first reading of an ordinance approving the fiscal year 2009-2010 budget
