Public Notice of
Equalization
For the City of Buena Vista
Public notice is hereby given that
the Board of Equalization for the City of Buena Vista will meet on the
days hereafter listed for the purpose of hearing complaints of
inequalities. Upon hearing such complaints, either oral or written, the
Board will give consideration AND INCREASE, DECREASE OR AFFIRM such real
estate assessments. Before a change can be granted, the taxpayer or his
agent must prove that the property is not uniform with other similar
properties or provide substantial evidence that the property is assessed
in excess of its fair market value.
Appointments will be scheduled every 15 minutes to
minimize waiting. To appear before the Board of Equalization, please
call 540-261-8610, from 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Meetings of the Board to
hear objects will be at the Municipal Building at 2039 Sycamore Avenue.
The dates and times are:
- September 17, 2008 - 1 pm to 4 pm
- September 23, 2008 - 9 am to noon
- September 25, 2008 - 1 pm to 4 pm
- September 29, 2008 - 9 am to noon
- October 2, 2008 - 5 pm to 7 pm
