Child Safety Seat Program

The Buena Vista Police Department has made it a point to ensure the safety of our Youth by offering Car Seat Installation Workshops.  Below are pictures from the June 14th event held at Wal-Mart.  This event was made possible by the Buena Vista PD, the Buena Vista Sheriff's Department, and State Farm Insurance.

Officer Harrison gives away a new car seat to this recipient as Officer Chittum records information about the vehicle and the car seat that was being replaced.  Two free car seats were given away at this event.
The BVPD & Trey Tilson's State Farm Insurance Agency teamed up to make this event a success.
The youngest child to have her seat inspected was Terra; She was born 6 days prior.

Trey Tilson's State Farm Crew donated weekend time, provided cold lemonade, teddy bears, coloring books and crayons for the kids!
Twenty-three car seats were inspected, 10 were installed correctly and 13 were re-installed.  People also stopped by for advice and even to get an officer to give pep talks to kids that did not cooperate with parents.
