DSLCC
or
SVU (Southern Virginia University) may make application and if
selected will work through an internship in the following manner. 20 hours with
Central Dispatch, 20 hours with the Buena Vista Sheriff's Department, and 40
hours with the Buena Vista Police Department. Check with your College Professor
to see if you qualify!
The Buena Vista Police department is headquartered at 306
Park Avenue. In the event of an emergency, dial 911.
The rank structure adopted by the Buena Vista Police
Department is Chief, Assistant Chief / Captain, Lieutenant, Investigator,
Corporal, and Patrol Officer. These people serve and protect the entire
community. They enforce traffic regulations, investigate crimes, and help to
educate our children.
